π Approximation Day Celebrated @ ZP School Manivali

Today the students of class 5th and 6th brought circular objects (like plate , bangle or tyre )one thread and one scale to measure circumference and diameter of that object. 

Students calculated circumference and diameter as follows

Then by seeing the chart students realised that irrespective of the size of the circle the ratio of circumference and diameter is somewhat same ie in between 3 and 4. 

Then I explained them the Constant π and it's value ie 22/7 in fraction form and 3.14.....in decimal fraction form..

I felicitated one of my student Lavanya Gotiram Gaikar for calculating correct value of π.
